Liv Simpson is a London based Costume Designer who has been working primarily on Gadigal Land (Sydney) for the past 10 years. She first stepped foot on set as an intern for Oscar winning costume designer Lizzy Gardiner (Pricilla Queen of The Desert).
Following her introduction to the industry, Liv has worked on a large variety of productions, including Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Great Gatsby’ in 2010.
Liv has worked her way up in a variety of costume roles over the years and is a graduate of the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFRTS), where she studied costume design under Oscar Winner Tim Chappel (Pricilla Queen of the Desert) in 2013
Liv has enjoyed many jobs working as a costume buyer for Theatre (Sydney Theatre Company’s ‘Muriel’s Wedding’ 2017 under Gabriella Tylesova and ‘Strictly Ballroom’ 2015 under Catherine Martin) as well as Television and Film (‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ under Liz Wolf 2017, ‘Peter Rabbit’ 2019)
As well as working on a range of productions over the years as a buyer and in various other roles, she has a vast catalogue of design work stretching from short films and music videos to television, advertising as well as feature films . She really loves the collaboration process and working on independent films.
Liv strives to provide strong visual support for story, concept and context through her use of colour, texture and unique style and loves almost every minute of it!
